My dear
I might have mailed you some of the little precious notes I have received from God over the years.
Earlier I only used to pray to him. I continue praying to him but recently I started writing notes to him too.
Here is one of them…

I am sure you remember that from the gospel when Jesus asks that we remove the plank from our own eyes before we start criticising our neighbour for the speck he has in his eye.
I catch myself doing that often… criticising some insignificant fault of someone, particularly in the Jesuit community in which I live. I guess living with someone for a long time makes us particularly prone to noticing, recording and criticising faults that they have. In Jesuit communities for me. In family, perhaps, for others.
Lent is a good time to set things right between ourselves and God and neighbour.
Giving up chocolates and meat is easy. Removing planks from our own eyes is not. I continue struggling with this.
Exams getting over here… vacation times beginning. For the students… not for me. The big summer time rush for vocational testing and guidance will begin in April and go on all the way till college reopens in June. Heavy schedule… busy times but I am ready and willing.
Other happy things will continue happening and I shall look forward to the surprises.
Meanwhile I continue my struggles with the plank.
Take care. Stay well … and good luck with the planks!
Love, terry
