For old times’ sake… SSL memories … Keeping you in touch…
SSL week (Jan 15th to 22nd) happened recently and there was a flurry of activities…
Jan 18th/19th was PROJECT CARE… a representative stylized picture of which you have below.
You should be able to make out the willing-horse student volunteer happily carrying the delighted child on her back… just one of the many little acts that led to bonding and connection and joy and merriment both for the team of student volunteers as well as the 75 underprivileged children who participated in Project Care.

The week’s programme was as follows:
the NGO Mela (sale of articles made by NGOs)…
SSLHOUETTES (an exhibition of 30 years of my posters on SSL themes)…
PROJECT CARE (two days of fun/interaction with about 70 underprivileged children)…
a CLEAN-UP drive of streets around the college…
Yesterday an EXHIBITION on people who have dramatically changed things around them…
and the week ended with a BLOOD DONATION on the 22nd. 229 bottles were collected from student donours.
You can bet I was helplessly tense and tired and composedly happy about all this… All the activities went off very well and I am breathing easy again till another round of whatever.
No, I did not go for the Standard Chartered Marathon last Sunday. I do not think I would have stood (run?) a chance with all those F1 runners from Africa zooming their way to the finishing line! Besides, I was busy with Project Care happening that same day here.
Maybe next year in the senior citizen category!
