Roy, Frazer and T! ._

My dear

Thought you would like this. It was a performance put up by the then principal and me at a Teacher’s Day function some years ago(more verses have been added).Even if I say so, it was quite a hit !!

You will remember your days here and all that you had to do to adjust and fit in….

The lyrics are mine. The tune is from an old favourite dialogue song “Gallagher and Sheen”.

More song and music in your own present life!!

The principal, being the principal, cannot help but cause a lot of problems for college students.

It is the job of the counsellor to sort these out amicably.

Now and then the two get together to discuss and explain why things are happening the way they are in the college….

The lyrics:

The normal font is sung by me, the bold font by Fr. Frazer.

                                              Fr. Frazer…… Fr. T!

1).  Oh Fr. Frazer                                             Yes, Fr. T?

This is quite a college that I see we’re in.

Everybody looks so rare, freaked-out clothes and coloured hair

What is this age and place we’ve landed in

Oh Fr. T! Dear Fr T!

We’re most privileged in this great place to be

Well known throughout this land, you’ll see here a glorious band….

It’s a circus, Fr. Frazer

             No, it’s Xavier’s,  Fr. T

2)   Fr. Frazer!                    Yes, Fr. T?

Our library has more than books, we’re told

Eager students walk right in, new assignments to begin

And the book shelves there are not remote controlled

Fr. T. Dear Fr. T!

You have got to learn to read between the lines

While our lads and lassies read, they’re fulfilling other needs…..

Intellectual, Fr. Frazer?

               Interpersonal, Fr. T!

3)   Oh Fr. Frazer                                             Yes, Fr. T?

      You’ve imposed a ban that’s quite a legacy

In short, will you explain what it is that Xavier’s gains

With trouser lengths and hemlines way below the knees?

Oh Fr. T. Can’t you see?

It’s only academic standards we must raise

Here in Xavier’s one must know. What to hide and what to show

You’re narrow minded, Fr. Frazer!

               But not short-sighted, Fr. T.!

4)    Dear Fr. Frazer                                         Yes, Fr. T?

In the good old days we danced a classic waltz

A partner we would hold – not too close if she had a cold

And our steps were perfect! Never any faults!

Fr.  T! Dear Fr. T!

Modern dancing, it has gone through quite a change

Now they’re jumping in the dark, like deranged electric sparks!

Hip-hop  dancing Fr. Frazer?

               Gangnam style..Fr. T

6)    Oh Fr. Frazer                             Yes, Fr. T

        Academics takes up everybody’s time

Autonomy you’ll admit, keeps them mentally quite fit

        Through CIAs,  assignments and deadlines

Fr. T.  Oh Fr. T!

There’s this young man I did meet the other day

He had a grin from ear to ear, another hurdle he did clear!

High  GPA dear  Frazer?

               ATKT, Fr. T!

7)   Dear Fr. Frazer!                         Yes, Fr. T?

Could you tell us what it’s like to be on top?

Is it easy? Is it tough? Do you think you’ve had enough?

Like some students do you want to take a drop?

Oh Fr. T!   Dear Fr. T!

There are joys and tears for one who is a head

Some days life is like a dream, other days I want to scream……

It’s hair-raising, Fr. Frazer!

Not for you dear, Fr. T!

8)   Fr. Frazer                      Yes Fr. T?

Do you think it’s worth it, teaching Xavierites?

Often I am at a loss, I don’t seem to get across

I am spent with weary days and sleepless nights

Dear Fr. T!  Oh Fr. T!

Keep your chin up things will turn out really fine

Our young people here today are worth more than I can say!

We’re their teachers, Fr. Frazer!

               They’re our students, Fr. T!

They’re our teachers  Fr. Frazer!

               We’re their students, Fr. T!!
