Sharing with you some of my thoughts on the Easter happenings..
They rolled away the stone.
At least it seemed that way.
At pitch-black dark of early morn
the stone was rolled away.
That’s what it seemed. That’s what they said.
And in the tomb was no one dead..
The hallowed tomb was bare
No bruised battered form
Just folded linen cloths lay there
that early Easter morn
And yet one sensed there something new
like fresh on morning grass, a dew.
His presence passed the folds
Inside the tomb a glow
Vanquished death, the world is told
These tidings all must know
To death a new-found dignity
Through death He makes us spirit-free.
A gentle thunder, clear
A cataclysmic change
Sin and death no more hold sway
if we with Him remain
Discarded now our errant styles
With God creation reconciles
For ever and for all
despair gives way to hope
No sway of death, towards new life
Transforming from within
He shows us just how gracefully
We are what we are born to be.
He now each one invites
” Roll away your stones
Let resurrecting flush of life
enflesh your entombed bones”
From mangled sorry helpless state
From pit of earth to pearly gate.
Entombed you’ll decompose
Roll away your stone
For us He died, for us He rose
We never are alone
In mortal flesh though mortal, we
Share in His immortality.
The stone is rolled away
No longer is He here
To all on earth His peace He brings
Dispelling gloom and fear
In “Alleluia” state we stay
For He has rolled the stone away!
Yes! He has rolled the stone away!
