pitch-black dark transformed
new dazzle light holds sway
the earth shrugs off night overcoat
and welcomes Easter day
land, sea and sky break out in song
now righted man from paths of wrong
the ransom fully paid.
the earth in splendour glows
fresh flowers colour bloom
resurrection happening
dispelling deathly gloom
in joyful celebration earth
reflects anew a second birth
Christ risen from the tomb!
On distant hill the cross
new changed by Spirit breeze
a glorious form with arms outstretched
on Calvary one sees
Eternal Father’s will is done
victorious o’er sin, the Son
brings gift to us – His peace!
