Nice to be catching up with you again…. and I hope things continue great for you.

Breaking news from here!

There was a notice put up on the hostel notice board on May 31st ,2012. I knew about it earlier so it was not a surprise for me.

I took a picture of it. It is not too clear but it is readable.

The notice says 33 years. Actually it is 32 years. If you include another three years hostel residency as a student in the college that makes a grand total of 35 years! Quite a record and I do not think anyone will ever come close to equalling it leave alone breaking it.

And I have kept my sanity and peace of mind right through all of it! (There have been occasional crises but they were dealt with fairly well, I think.) Maybe that is the more important record!

I have moved to reside in the Father’s Quarters (never resided there all these year) and I adjust to new conditions of Jesuit ambience living and undisturbed nights of blissful sleep!

My new room is a quaint room in the older part of the college building and has a heritage Burma teak wood floor and a quite heritage wooden this-way-that-way multi-sloping ceiling. The furniture is quite heritage too. All of this should make me fit in quite comfortably considering that just now I am one of the older fathers in the community!!

My counselling centre and the world in and around it continues …. and since that is a major part of my life it will not be too much of an overall adjustment that I will have to make.

As for other things earlier, so for this big change now, I look forward to fresh wonders that will open up for me.

The rains continue somewhat unconvincingly … sudden light drizzles, heavy showers….just cloudy spells. Comforting, cooling and promising. The regular monsoon rains delayed till now, need to get into the regular swing of things…. and I am really looking forward to that.. mostly because I am safe and dry indoors practically all of the time!

College things carry on and all is well in busy-bustling mode with Malhar preparation swiftly shifting to centre-stage. It is nice to have the whole “circus” of adolescent life around again!

New admissions have come in with their “Alice-in-wonderland” looks and attitudes and the “seniors” look down condescendingly on the fresh inexperience they have to adjust to!

Ah well, life goes on as always.

Obviously I am looking forward to lots of exciting happenings as the year rolls along… ups and downs and in-betweens!

One has to adjust to things one does not have control of.. and make the best of what is possible…

I am a great believer in things falling onto place in the long run. When one has lived long enough there is sufficient evidence of this happening all the time.

What is not falling into place in the long run for me just now is a blessed viral fever/whatever that I got an attack of after my last Khandala trip. It has been about two weeks now. I am somewhat low-key body-ache weak during the day with no temperature and just before bed my temp goes up to 99.1 or so. Same thing the next day…

Went for a blood test/urine test. Everything is perfect and the way it is supposed to be. Strange thing is that three others in the father’s quarters (including the cook) are suffering from the same symptoms!

I am glad that the rains are raining though not as whole-heartedly like monsoon style. That should happen soon enough. My plants are surely happy about that….

Hope your own things are wonderful and there is much to look forward to for you as well!

Lots of love, Terry
