The Father’s love derided, shamed
as mocking human voices chance
a challenge:”Come down, dance
those miracles and cures for us
we’re audience here, don’t make a fuss!”
“You said you can from death bring life
make resurrection come from strife
transform then battered bruised earth
grow green and lush in place of dirt!”
He answers not to them. His love
a channel : earth to God above.
“It is consummated! Done!
For you my Father, kingdom won!
With arms outstretched I now embrace
frail fallen man and raise to grace
from sinful low to heaven heights
from abyss dark to zenith lights.”
The thunder voice from heaven again:
“Beloved Son, my grace to men
will flow flood now through you released
All earth attend : I am well pleased!”
