Thanks so much for your email wishes and greetings for my birthday.

Birthdays come and go and every year they are telling me how much younger I look and how much younger I am. I am old enough to smile paternally and take it all with a proverbial pinch of salt and the occasional medication for minor ailments as and when they come.

I continue proclaiming how happy I am the age I am and the way I am.

Here’s something more about my growing  older and growing up! I wrote it about ten years ago but the sentiments now are much the same….. expressive of how I am and feel just now…

The visuals are from a Team Building camp with SSL college students at our Xavier’s Khandala villa some years ago.

The pace is slightly slower now

Though distances unchanged

I march to mellow beating drums

To some, I’m out of range.

I whisper walk through gentle showers,

hear leaves rustle, smell the flowers

clocks no longer rush my hours

schedules  new arranged.

Ahead I see in distance mist

a quick paced younger crowd

their colours seem much wilder now

their music much too loud

To them I seem a bit behind

and out of place, I do not mind

my drum beats are another kind

I march with heart unbowed

Through disappearing mists I walk

I look around and see

Beam dance of sun on breeze tossed leaves

Flit  birds on branch of trees

By monsoon moist I am embraced

The here-and-now my drums have paced

My life and living present-faced

Years pass on gracefully!

And with the passing of years, fresh happynings….new pictures… more stories to regale my life with

and I continue looking forward…

True, the pace is slightly slower now but there is enough to do nevertheless. I cannot remember

when I was last bored or anything like that!

Things relatively quiet and peaceful with me just now in-between crescending Malhar noises

and intermittent rain showers.. And the in-between academic indulgences continue with

calculated liberties taken with attendances and assignment deadlines and related things.

Much like older generations did…

Xavier’s carries on being a way of life….

All else is well and life continues as beautifully as it can…with a few bad patches occasionally

(like my recent prolonged viral fever condition) thrown in for dramatic effect or something like that!

Wonder times and dazzle things to you too…

Take care .

Love, Terry
