We generally look forward to the good things in life : the successes, the opportunities, the encouragements, the appreciation and praises for things we have done well.
Fortunately or unfortunately life is real and the other not-so-good things in life also bump into us rather unpleasantly every now and then:.. the failures, the rejections, the criticisms, the seeming unfairness and the disappointments because things are not going the way we might want them to.
That old game we used to play as children suddenly becomes real and distressing.
How we love and celebrate the ladders!
How we distress and fret over the snakes!
As you grow older, you learn to adjust to both and the journey of life carries on the better for the experiences which enrich your growth.
May you enjoy and celebrate the ladders.
And may you deal sensibly and maturely with the snakes.
