An old discarded broken water pot surely has memories of long ago days when it held a pride of place in a home. Frequent trips to and from the village well, care in handling when being lifted up and put down, care in keeping it  dirt free and clean, and everyone in the family came to it time and again for a cup of cool and refreshing water that it so graciously stored. And when the water was over, it was replenished and the family continued to come to it time and again…

When one sees the glory of the flower in full bloom, one hardly remembers the subdued beauty of the bud. And the caterpillar is hardly thought of when one’s eye’s are caught up by the colourful flit-by beauty of the butterfly.

Who and what we are now matters… and that very much depends on what we were and how we best used the times and opportunities in our growing up.
