My dear
We priests generally go around preaching sermons. Mostly on Sundays but the habit generally gets the better of us and many of us continue preaching every chance we get.
Here’s a sermon from your friendly priest- friend!
Unlike some people in church, please do not doze off during this sermon!
It is when things are calm that building up of our resources is the wiser thing to do. If we take care of our health when we are young then some of the crippling illnesses will not get to us when we are older. If one studies during the year when one is calm then exams need not be stormy experiences…. So also with marriages and bringing up children and relationships and careers and handling one’s finances and other things. I have always believed that married couples should go for counselling when they are happy and very much in love. They could then learn how to maintain and even enhance the level of the wonderful relationship that they currently have. There is a lot to be said for “Disaster Management”…. but if there is wise utilization of and preparation for these during calm times then disasters may not occur at all. And if they do occur then we will be better able to handle them. So say your prayers when the seas and the winds are calm…. Should the weather ever become rough you will better be able to handle your ship! I need to do a lot of that myself. In the area of health, surely, but in other areas as well. I am quite a last-minute disaster solving person and my BP often goes up because of that. Don’t show it much but it is there…. Despite the rush times here, my seas here are pretty calm just now. I shall go and say some more prayers….! You do that too.. He’ll take care! Love, Terry. |
