My dear
Another year is well off the ground… and there is a so much that awaits us.
Thought you might like to reflect on this a bit…
Our actual worth in the cosmos should be about nothing (that’s a zero) raised to infinity.
And that would make it a plight that we would have no reason to chuckle about.
And it was so for a long long time.
Then Jesus was born into the world and changed the whole equation radically.
You know what he came for, lived for and died for.
You know what he taught us and raised us to.
We now have a brand new place in the cosmos
and the Father’s love that Jesus brought down to us makes us unbelievably priceless.
The cosmos shrinks inexorably in comparison.
The challenge is to live out the dignity we have been raised to. To live it out daily.
In all the big things and in all the small things as well.
The good news is that he has made it easy for us by accompanying us all the way.
So we really do not have to chuckle about our plight in the cosmos.
We have to chuckle about our splendor, our power, our grandeur!
Not in pomp and pride, though, but in humility and service.
We are in this mind boggling cosmos to serve and to care for it.
That is the power we have been given and the power we must use.
If we fail in that then we might have to rather mourn our plight in the cosmos.
That is because the cosmos takes note of what we are doing to it and responds accordingly…
Global warming, carbon footprint, climate change, fossil fuels, ecological damage, deforestation, pollution and everything else that is killing the cosmos slowly but surely, is also killing us slowly and surely.
It is the helpless response of the cosmos to human greed.
So commit yourself to embracing the cosmos and caring for it. In big ways and little ways…
And spread the message that love for and care of the earth will make it love and care for us in return.
There will be so much of beautiful to look forward to in the years to come.
That would be awesome, wouldn’t it?
Take care…and tell others to take care too…
Love, Terry
