Early August I was out of circulation for a while…
I went for my annual eight day retreat..a gentle celebration of prayer and peace and quiet and being away from it all. Time to put things in place together again… and open myself for new blessing adventures that are in store for me….
It generally is to a somewhat far-away place that one goes for a retreat. …distanced from one’s usual work-place and people and reminders of what one is generally busy with all through the year. …nature surrounds and peace ambience… elbow-room for comforting breezes and overheads of open sky…..starry nights to meditate under… and uncrowded pathways for wherelessness walks…..
A suitable setting for peace and prayer and being alone with God…

I did not go too far away. We have a Retreat House in Bandra .Isolated place with a wild garden ( lots of mosquitoes in that garden), a large terrace , quiet inspiring prayer rooms and the sea promenade just down the road…. good for the occasional walk I went for in the evening.
I was given a self-contained private room there. Perfect!
I am glad that I made the retreat. And I am glad that I am back on track now … all set for the things that lie ahead..
After that Malhar came and went with it’s usual song-and-dance routine. Noisy mad rush-around and subsequent recovery.
Fortunately my office is conveniently sound-proof so I was quite comfortably sane inside doing my own things…
Last Wednesday/Thursday we had the FYJC admissions and orientations and we now have to cope with a fresh flush of adolescent “Alice in Wonderland” exuberance in Xavier’s.
Plus other normal college things that will come up….
Life goes on… thank God for that.. and refreshed and re-spirited that I am after the retreat break, I am glad that I have something to look forward to….
Always been like that… thank God!
Quite enjoyed the heavy showers we have just been having….
