Some time back, 20th<\/sup> June 2013, <\/strong>was exactly FIFTY years later!<\/p>\n I did not quite realize the full impact of it then but over the years I have.<\/p>\n This was a little note I got from God long ago.<\/p>\n photo : kevin d’cruz<\/p>\n That\u2019s my profile in the foreground. In the distances beyond you will see a winding road, a bridge of sorts, a range of hills and valleys, patterned half lit clouds and open skies above.<\/p>\n All of these, for you as well as for me, are metaphors for what life is all about.<\/p>\n All of these and even more ahead for me when He said: \u201cCome!\u201d<\/p>\n And that invitation has continued over these many years.<\/p>\n All this time I do not quite remember ever asking Him: \u201cWhere?\u201d<\/p>\n Now and then over the years, though, I might have slipped up a bit and wandered towards places<\/p>\n that might not have been quite right for me.<\/p>\n Thankfully there was always a re-calling again and again and a return to blessing and grace.<\/p>\n I have lost count of the number of times He has kept me safe.<\/p>\n That\u2019s the wonderful thing about God: He loves us unconditionally. He does not give up on us regardless.<\/p>\n Responding consistently and faithfully to His calling is the best way of ensuring that we live wholesome, healthy lives.<\/p>\n The calling continues for me and so does the responding.<\/p>\n With your prayers and blessings please be with me in celebrating a milestone in this relationship:<\/p>\n My Golden Jubilee year as a Jesuit!<\/p>\n 50 years of Him saying \u201cCome!\u201d and 50 years of my saying: \u201cYes!\u201d<\/p>\n I assure you of my prayers and blessings as well, since all of us in different ways are fulfilling God\u2019s plan and responding to His invitation: Come!<\/p>\n No big celebrations here. Four of us co-jubilarians and a few people met for a mass and a modest supper on June 20th <\/sup>in Bandra.<\/p>\n On Sunday (30th<\/sup>), our Xavier\u2019s Jesuit community hosted my family and a few Jesuits for a prayer service and a lunch in the Fathers\u2019 quarters here. The family I was born in and the family I was called to got together for a really wonderful time!<\/p>\n And in December this year, all the Jesuits of Mumbai will have a common no-fuss celebration for all the Jubilarians.<\/p>\n After that we will all march ahead for 10 more years to the next jubilee (Diamond – 60 years) in 2023!!<\/p>\n There is so much to look forward to … YYYAAAYYYYY!<\/p>\n Other things happening here as always \u2013 Malhar preparatory noises and excitement as well as occasional heavy\/light showers and I weave my happily through them and other things that come along.<\/p>\n Take care.
