My dear<\/p>\n
Wanted to share an adventure with you.<\/p>\n
Just one\u00a0road\u00a0led off into the woods….<\/p>\n
Quite naturally it was the\u00a0road much travelled.<\/p>\n
I set off into the woods whistling my way merrily treading lightly along the road.<\/p>\n
Suddenly I remembered adventure… risk taking…comfort zones…pioneer experiences… bungee jumping…and all those motivational messages I have received from people and from books read over the years…<\/p>\n
I had never been much inclined to these things but here was I comfortably strolling through this more travelled road with not a care in the world…. and I had a lot of time … so I thought I might as well give it a try..<\/p>\n
So I left this one road… wandering through jungle shrub and bush and thicket with a smile on my lips and a song in my heart.. I was going to make out for myself a second road…. a road that was less travelled. I moved on resolutely. My name would be in big lights soon. I was shaping a path. I was blazing a trail.<\/p>\n
It wasn\u2019t long before I slipped over loose stones, tripped over fallen branches, got myself scratched and poked by brambles and thorns …nearly stepped on a snake, was chased by a strange and wild looking dog.<\/p>\n
The woods were dark and deep for sure. Lovely, I am not certain. One cannot see too clearly through anything that is dark and deep. As I fumbled my way ahead, the woods became darker and deeper and my pounding heart and confused brain wondered about the wisdom of this particular adventure. And when I turned around I could not make out the path I was supposed to have come through… the path that would take me back to the more travelled road.<\/p>\n
I was lost…. well and truly lost. Behind me was confusion. Ahead of me possible disaster. Wisdom and inspiration are sometimes better left to the books they have been written in.<\/p>\n
Tired, disoriented, hungry, parched, dishevelled, broken down and completely helpless, I resigned myself to whatever fate had in store for me.<\/p>\n
Things turned favourable. I was rescued by some incidental travellers and brought back home and to familiar surroundings. What a relief!<\/p>\n
I will recuperate and get better in a week or two.<\/p>\n
After that I shall go back to the woods and try that unfamiliar second road again!<\/p>\n
