A brother of mine sent me this story on the email. It is a nice simple story and I am sharing it with you.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0A young couple moves into a new neighbourhood. The next morning while they are eating breakfast the young woman sees her neighbour hang the wash outside.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
” The laundry is not very clean”,\u00a0 she said, “She doesn’t know how to wash correctly. Perhaps she needs better laundry soap.”<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Her husband looked out at the washing \u00a0but remained silent.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Every time her neighbour would hang her wash to dry, the young woman would make the same comment.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
About\u00a0two weeks \u00a0later the young woman was surprised to see a nice clean wash on the line and said to her husband : “Look! She has finally learned to wash correctly!<\/p>\n
I wonder who taught her this.”<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
The husband said: “I got up early this morning and cleaned our windows.”<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Now that’s an interesting story .<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
You’re not going to believe it but something similar happened to me…<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/p>\n

For many years I used to look at the college and the world and people I knew and worked with and the work that I was doing\u00a0 and practically all of life itself\u00a0through a somewhat uncleaned window.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
OK, OK, so it was a stained glass window \u00a0and looked pretty like that but still it was not all that clean and what I saw through it was kind of blurred and not so beautiful…..<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Then you know what I did?<\/p>\n
Since I did not have anyone else to do it for me…. I had to do it myself so I did it :<\/p>\n

I opened the window!!\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
And suddenly everything looked beautiful and natural and clear.<\/p>\n
Just like it was\u00a0 meant to be and actually was…. !<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
I do not easily jump to first-sight and first-impression conclusions now.<\/p>\n
I check on my windows\u00a0 first – clean or dirty, open or closed, –\u00a0and then I relate to what I see.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Sometimes, though,\u00a0I mess up and judge wrongly. If I do that then I generally correct myself and apologise for it.\u00a0 Most people can handle and appreciate \u00a0well meant and sincere apologies .<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
And carrying on after that is a whole lot easier…<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
There is always so much to learn from windows and water bottles and\u00a0 kites and birds and flowers and all the rest…<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
In the end much of the\u00a0world around us is as we see it through windows or glasses<\/p>\n
or experiences we have had earlier or attitudes we have developed over the years…<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Cleaning up our windows or opening up our lives does more good to us than it does to what is out there beyond…<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Doing it right away is a good time to be doing it…. don’t you think ?<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
