Nice to connect with you again with the latest news from the front lines here.<\/p>\n

Just got back last Thursday from yet another SSL rural camp.<\/p>\n

Lovely place (a fifty acre farm in Mahad \u2013 chillies\/bananas\/papayas\/mangoes and strawberry saplings\/cows\/goats…)<\/p>\n

Lovely work (weeding chilli fields\/clearing grass\/digging ten pits for algae beds) \u2013 7 hours a day.<\/p>\n

Very comfortable living conditions… lots of water.<\/p>\n

Excellent yummy food (rice\/dhal\/vegetable\/papad\/pickle).<\/p>\n

An awesome group of students (38 of them).<\/p>\n

Because of my Senior citizen status and otherwise limitations, \u00a0I was not allowed to strain myself and work … quite a challenge to my uncontrollable urge to show-off! I agonised watching them do things differently and made my gentle \u201csuggestions\u201d as and when I could. They smiled and learnt and went back to doing things differently.<\/p>\n

So I too smiled, generally rested and pottered around the fringes pretending I was enthusiastically occupied in matters of importance.<\/p>\n

And I drank a lot of water… good for kidney stones, they say.<\/p>\n

Back here now to everyday things and happy for the 10 day break before college reopens again.<\/p>\n

Catching up on things will keep me happily busy.<\/p>\n

Quiet times now since Diwali is just over. Thank God for ear-plugs. I have many of them. I used them and slept soundly.<\/p>\n

Belated \u00a0\u00a0 to you too!<\/p>\n

In your life and living may there be more sparkle dazzle lights… and less noise!<\/p>\n

Celebrate the lights in family, friends and people around you<\/p>\n

Light up the lamps inside of yourself as well.<\/p>\n

College reopens tomorrow\u2026 16th<\/sup> Nov. I shall continue lighting lamps\u2026 and encourage others to do so as well.<\/p>\n
