I have made a small hole in my wall<\/p>\n

to look through at the Easter night sky.<\/p>\n

Strange things will happen they tell us.<\/p>\n

In the ordinary day-to-day life<\/p>\n

most of us eke our way through ,<\/p>\n

any\u00a0 unusual and strange thing<\/p>\n

is a welcome distraction.<\/p>\n

Sometimes one has to prepare oneself<\/p>\n

so that one is present there<\/p>\n

when these strange things happen.<\/p>\n

So I made this small hole in my wall.<\/p>\n

It isn’t a hole in the brick of the walls<\/p>\n

that my room is made up of.<\/p>\n

It is\u00a0 a hole in the other kinds of non-brick walls<\/p>\n

that sometimes I build up around myself<\/p>\n

to keep me from seeing things the way they might be.<\/p>\n

A hole in the walls that I build up<\/p>\n

to prevent other beautiful things<\/p>\n

from reaching in to me.<\/p>\n

These are the walls that cannot\u00a0be seen easily.<\/p>\n

These are the unrealized walls<\/p>\n

that it is more difficult to make holes in.<\/p>\n

But I have done it tonight.<\/p>\n

And it is through this hole in the wall<\/p>\n

that I will allow myself<\/p>\n

to look out this Easter night.<\/p>\n

And I see beyond the smog and dust and fumes,<\/p>\n

the beautiful night sky<\/p>\n

illumined by the radiance of a promise.<\/p>\n

Every star carries with it part of that promise.<\/p>\n

A promise that things need never be the same again.<\/p>\n

And the sky may be seen blue<\/p>\n

even in the pitchest of pitch black nights.<\/p>\n

Night blue skies and brightly beaming stars.<\/p>\n

And the promise that we will live forever.<\/p>\n

Despite the rottenness around and the stench of death.<\/p>\n

Despite the seeming noonday darkness.<\/p>\n

Despite our own failings and reluctance to be saved.<\/p>\n

Despite the unresisted preference for things that destroy us.<\/p>\n

He reaches out from beyond the night blue skies<\/p>\n

and the splendour of the stars<\/p>\n

with his flourish of grace\u00a0 and promise.<\/p>\n

He has conquered death once and for all.<\/p>\n

For Himself.<\/p>\n

For us.<\/p>\n

With Him we have become immortal.<\/p>\n

With him we have risen from the grave forever…..<\/p>\n

ALLELUIA!!<\/p>\n
