It was rural camp times for me here recently… or so I thought!!\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
This is probably the only picture of me at rural camp 2013.<\/p>\n

Why? You might want to know.<\/p>\n
About 50 of us left for camp the 24th <\/sup>Oct. Two days earlier I had started getting mild spasms of pain in my right abdomen.<\/p>\n I thought they were stomach gripes. Bore with them and went about setting things up at the campsite (refer photo).<\/p>\n During the night entertainment the pain increased and I went to bed. Between midnight and 4 am I had the most murderously excruciating pain in my life. I must have died at least five times. The pain was familiar \u2013 I had similar mind-blowing pain three years ago. AAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH !!!\u00a0 Kidney stones!!!<\/p>\n Returned by hired car to Mumbai on the 25th <\/sup>Oct. Admitted to hospital and with pain-killers and saline drips and whatever else.<\/p>\n Miracle : the stone\/s seem to have flushed out in a little over 24 hours. In the process I also set a Guinness record for peeing : 63 times in 24 hours! The doc said it was due to the saline drip. I am hoping it is true. With the drip gone I am back to my usual 10 times a day routine.<\/p>\n I was discharged from the hospital on Monday (28th <\/sup>Oct.) and I came back to Xavier\u2019s for rest, recovery and more imbibing of water. \u00a0Am not very good at this and I require constant reminders.<\/p>\n Beer has also been suggested and I am having occasional doses for medicinal reasons only.\u00a0<\/p>\n I don\u2019t think I mentioned this to you earlier but a couple of weeks back I fell into an open manhole. No damage at all \u2013 I was really lucky. On a complaint made because of my fall, the manhole was covered by the BMC the very next day!!<\/p>\n Don\u2019t mind my troubling you with these horror stories about my life… but they say it is always good to share things with a friend!<\/p>\n You must have noticed that I also share happy\/celebration things with you too!\u00a0<\/p>\n Shared joys are doubled, sorrows shared are halved. I think somebody said that long ago!<\/p>\n And my SSL rural campers returned on the 2nd <\/sup>Nov\u00a0 with lit-up eyes, tanned faces, glowing attitudes and many stories to tell.<\/p>\n I missed the camp because of that kidney-stone attack but I was able to catch up with them and, in some way, still be a part of it all.<\/p>\n Vacations are over, classes began on the 11th…academics and festivals and extra-curricular and whatever else.<\/p>\n It is good to be back to everyday happy madness!<\/p>\n Take care.
