Another Sunday today.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
On Sundays priests generally give sermons at some church or the other.<\/p>\n
I had a private mass today… so I have not done my share of Sunday preaching.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Shouldn’t let a good sermon go to waste, so I have made a list of those who might like to receive and learn from\u00a0one more of my preachy mails!!<\/p>\n

May be presumptuous of me but sometimes I am like that too!<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 photo : terryq<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n A professor began his class by holding up a glass with some water in it.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n He held it up for all to see and asked the students : <\/strong><\/p>\n “How much do you think this glass weighs?”<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n “50 grams!”…. “100 grams!” ….”125 grams!”\u00a0 … the students answered.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n “I really don’t know unless I weigh it,” said the professor,\u201d but my question is : <\/strong><\/p>\n What would happen if I held it up like this for a few minutes?” <\/strong><\/p>\n He stretched out his hand with the glass of water in it.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n “Nothing!” the students answered.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n “OK, what would happen if I held it up like this for an hour?” the professor asked.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n “Your arm would begin to ache,” said one of the students.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n “You’re right! Now what would happen if I held it up for a day?”<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n “Your arm could go numb, you might have severe muscle stress and paralysis, <\/strong><\/p>\n and have to go to the hospital for sure,” ventured another student, <\/strong><\/p>\n and all the students laughed.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n “Very good. But during all this, did the weight of the glass change?” asked the professor.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n “No.”<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n “Then what caused the arm ache and the muscle stress?”<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n The students were puzzled.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n “Put the glass down!” said one of the students.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n “Exactly!” said the professor.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n “Life’s problems are something like this. <\/strong><\/p>\n Hold them for a few minutes in your head and they seem OK. <\/strong><\/p>\n Think of them for a long time and they begin to ache. <\/strong><\/p>\n Hold them even longer and they begin to paralyze you. <\/strong><\/p>\n You will not be able to do anything.”<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n “It is important to think about the challenges or problems in your life. <\/strong><\/p>\n But it is even more important to ‘put them down’ at the end of the day <\/strong><\/p>\n before you go to sleep. <\/strong><\/p>\n That way you are not stressed. <\/strong><\/p>\n You wake up every day fresh and strong and can handle any issue, <\/strong><\/p>\n any challenge that comes your way.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n So remember, whenever you can, as soon as you can,<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0put that glass down!! “<\/strong><\/p>\n The older we grow the more we might find ourselves balancing on the palms of our outstretched\u00a0arms, an assorted collection of glasses…<\/p>\n And we wonder why we feel all stressed out as ordinary things of life become more and more unmanageable..<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Me too. I often\u00a0have the feeling that I have more glasses than I can handle and there isn’t any place down that I can put them either.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n My imagination, of course…. I am not indispensable!<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n The earth will spin around just the same even if I put those glasses down…<\/p>\n And I will surely become more serene and composed for having done that…<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Go thou and do likewise.
