At least it seemed that way.<\/p>\n
At pitch-black dark of early morn<\/p>\n
the stone was rolled away.<\/p>\n
That’s what it seemed. That’s what they said.<\/p>\n
And in the tomb was no one dead..<\/p>\n
The hallowed tomb was bare<\/p>\n
No bruised battered form<\/p>\n
Just folded linen cloths lay there<\/p>\n
that early Easter morn<\/p>\n
And yet one sensed there\u00a0something new<\/p>\n
like fresh on\u00a0morning grass, a dew.<\/p>\n
His\u00a0presence passed the folds<\/p>\n
Inside the tomb a glow<\/p>\n
Vanquished death, the world is told<\/p>\n
These tidings all must know<\/p>\n
To death a new-found dignity<\/p>\n
Through death He makes us spirit-free.<\/p>\n
A gentle thunder, clear<\/p>\n
A cataclysmic change<\/p>\n
Sin and death no more hold sway<\/p>\n
if we with Him remain<\/p>\n
Discarded now our errant styles<\/p>\n
With God creation reconciles<\/p>\n
For ever and for all<\/p>\n
despair gives way to hope<\/p>\n
No sway of death,\u00a0towards new life<\/p>\n
Transforming from within<\/p>\n
He shows us just how gracefully<\/p>\n
We are what we are born to be.<\/p>\n
He now each\u00a0one invites<\/p>\n
”\u00a0Roll away your stones<\/p>\n
Let resurrecting flush of life<\/p>\n
enflesh your entombed bones”<\/p>\n
From mangled sorry helpless state<\/p>\n
From pit of earth to pearly gate.<\/p>\n
Entombed you’ll decompose<\/p>\n
Roll away your stone<\/p>\n
For us He died, for us He rose<\/p>\n
We never are alone<\/p>\n
In mortal flesh though mortal, we<\/p>\n
Share in His immortality.<\/p>\n
The stone is rolled away<\/p>\n
No longer is He here<\/p>\n
To all on earth His peace He brings<\/p>\n
Dispelling gloom and\u00a0fear<\/p>\n
In “Alleluia” state we stay<\/p>\n
For He has rolled the stone away!<\/p>\n
Yes! He has rolled the stone away!<\/p>\n
