Here’s one for the road, so to say! Kind of spiritual too… so it fits in with my preparatory retreat mood.<\/p>\n
Religious and theological differences are inevitable and can be entertaining too… Here’s an example .<\/p>\n
\u00a0This is literally a ‘church signs’ debate, being played out in a\u00a0 Southern US\u00a0town,<\/p>\n
between Our Lady of Martyrs Catholic Church,<\/p>\n
and Cumberland Presbyterian, a fundamentalist church.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
From top to bottom shows you the response and counter-response over time.\u00a0<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I am convinced that humour is as much of a virtue as Patience and Fortitude and all the rest. And\u00a0 I believe that if there was more humour in the world then there would be less disgruntled individuals and dysfunctional families and hatred and wars and injustice and distressing things like that.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Over the years I have tried to use humour to help me through some of the tough times I have had to live through. Of course I have felt upset and distressed when not-so-nice things have happened, but looking at the fun side of what I have been subjected to has made it easier for me to cope. Once the “legitimate” distress has subsided, of course.<\/p>\n
“Legitimate”?\u00a0 Of course… I am allowed to get angry and upset when someone offends me or when something goes wrong.<\/p>\n
But how long and with what consequences I am angry or upset depends on me.<\/p>\n
A sense of humour helps there….<\/p>\n

Yes, all rocks do go to heaven!<\/p>\n
