Reflections for Maundy Thursday:\u00a0 Something momentous happened in a secluded upper room in Jerusalem…. and moved on from there.<\/p>\n

Dust laden feet so caring cleansed<\/p>\n
passover meal consumed<\/p>\n
fresh covenant in Eucharist gift<\/p>\n
prayers made and promises<\/p>\n
to loving friends, not servants yet<\/p>\n
commandment new he gives:<\/p>\n
\u201cWash feet in service, heal, forgive<\/p>\n
as I have done for you.\u201d<\/p>\n
“Let us go forth\u2026 outside through night<\/p>\n
to light of Father\u2019s bid”.<\/p>\n
In garden crushed breaks out the sweat<\/p>\n
of frail and human form<\/p>\n
surrender plea: “If possible…<\/p>\n
but yet \u2013 your will be done.<\/p>\n
My Father let this chalice pass<\/p>\n
but yes – your will be done..!”<\/p>\n

He teaches us to pray again. With a prayer like that we can be assured that all our other prayers will most certainly be answered!<\/p>\n
Recognition of the Father\u2019s will and graceful acceptance of it is a guarantee for a peaceful life despite the challenging circumstances that so often beset us.<\/p>\n
Yes, His will be done\u2026.<\/p>\n
Holy week services in the Jesuit Community\u2026<\/p>\n
Prayerful, peaceful\u00a0 Passover to the alleluia glory of Easter.<\/p>\n
