Some metaphorical reflections on life…and the\u00a0time is right for me to be sending them around..<\/p>\n
The seasons we have here in India are not as clear-cut as they are in the West…. but despite that confusion and even with a “monsoon” season thrown in, some definition\u00a0is possible…<\/p>\n
The whimsical monsoons\u00a0were over some time back. The usual thunder and lightning\u00a0\u00a0 missing for the most part. Then hot-cool weather games began. A token autumn season stealing some of our attention to announce its presence. Not too clear, not too distinct but somewhat hesitatingly present. The two big trees in my backyard have begun shedding their leaves already.<\/p>\n
Autumn is a season for sure. It can also be an attitude….. and falling autumn leaves might be\u00a0 something more to us than just an announcement of\u00a0 a seasonal change we have to adjust to externally….<\/p>\n
I\u00a0 look out of my window\u00a0and reflect about what I see unfolding outside….<\/p>\n

They flit by my window sorrow-sadly<\/p>\n
Singing\u00a0 silent swan songs<\/p>\n
downward drift\u00a0to dust embrace.<\/p>\n
Autumn leaves leave lofty heights<\/p>\n
letting go, as I must too, of old.<\/p>\n
The new-bare\u00a0 trees now<\/p>\n
still silently solid standing<\/p>\n
awakening arm branches<\/p>\n
outstretched to welcome<\/p>\n
as I must too, the new.<\/p>\n
Autumn is bad for\u00a0 leaves<\/p>\n
but necessary good for the trees.<\/p>\n
They stark stand, confirmed<\/p>\n
in hope of another spring season<\/p>\n
splendour shower returning<\/p>\n
new foliage vested<\/p>\n
luxuriance dream fulfilled.<\/p>\n
But first there must be winter.<\/p>\n
Winters must be passed through<\/p>\n
on seasonal step to spring.<\/p>\n
Not dry desolate disturbing winter<\/p>\n
But winter unwithered within –<\/p>\n
sap and inner energies<\/p>\n
awakening resources new pushed<\/p>\n
to edges of awakening.<\/p>\n
The first morn of spring.<\/p>\n
To every season a first place.<\/p>\n
for\u00a0leaves, for trees, for me.<\/p>\n
Spring, summer, autumn, winter.<\/p>\n

With each new cyclic change there is growth and enrichment and something differently wonderful that happens to us.<\/p>\n
Distress and discomfort too… but that is the way life is.<\/p>\n
Like the trees we too must\u00a0 take in what helps, \u00a0shrug off what doesn’t, adjust and grow taller….<\/p>\n
The skies are always nearer for those who dare to grow.<\/p>\n
More daring and growing to you and nearer skies for all that you are and do!<\/p>\n
