was turned into a splash of stars and sun<\/p>\n
with crayons, pics and lines,<\/p>\n
\u201cknock-knock\u201d jokes, recalling times<\/p>\n
and things ago, ’twas really full of pun.<\/p>\n
So here is my reply<\/p>\n
written down below, so \u201cHi!\u201d<\/p>\n
’tis forthright, free & floating, fast & frank.<\/p>\n
Little mixed up, somewhat terse,<\/p>\n
not so bad, it could be verse<\/p>\n
than other novel ways of saying thanks.<\/p>\n
So, \u201cTHANK YOU!\u201d let me start<\/p>\n
from the bottom of my art<\/p>\n
that’s where all basic genius does begin,<\/p>\n
from there I’ll up ascend<\/p>\n
through every curve and bend<\/p>\n
I can do it, I am original since…….<\/p>\n
Now that my thanks is done<\/p>\n
there are reasons in the sun<\/p>\n
that I’d rather talk about and let you know<\/p>\n
or yes, I’d better be<\/p>\n
or even seedy ea-<\/p>\n
sily make the most of all I have to show.<\/p>\n
Last night I had a dream<\/p>\n
(when you hear it you will scream!)<\/p>\n
of flying in a ship through outer space<\/p>\n
and there amidst the stars<\/p>\n
seven light years south of Mars<\/p>\n
I chanced upon a most unusual phase.<\/p>\n
Not so rounded, quite serene,<\/p>\n
e’en her contacts could be seen,<\/p>\n
oh so touching, like a million fingertips!<\/p>\n
As she combed each lash and brow<\/p>\n
she did smile and said, \u201cSomehow,<\/p>\n
I am number one der wonder of the year.\u201d<\/p>\n
I accosted her and said,<\/p>\n
\u201cSkies are blue, but you are read<\/p>\n
about in science magazines on earth.<\/p>\n
Are you fantasy or fact<\/p>\n
have my nightmares only tracked<\/p>\n
a celestial traveller without a berth?\u201d<\/p>\n
Just at this point of time<\/p>\n
my alarm clock set a rhyme<\/p>\n
to a piece of Mozart’s minuet. In jeans<\/p>\n
I dressed up with a start,<\/p>\n
calmed the pulsings of my heart,<\/p>\n
shut off the stunted timepiece symphony.<\/p>\n
Now a bit about our strike<\/p>\n
conditions,pays and hike-<\/p>\n
our status quo has really slipped a rung<\/p>\n
we’ve been ordered : \u201cHurry back!\u201d<\/p>\n
or else we’ll get the sack<\/p>\n
What a lowly way for us to end up hung.<\/p>\n
I’m confused, confounded too.<\/p>\n
(actually I’m Terry Q!)<\/p>\n
What the hell has happened? Where go we from here?<\/p>\n
Did we give up? Did we win?<\/p>\n
The assurances are thin.<\/p>\n
They might not materialise for several years.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile , life does carry on<\/p>\n
e’en though half the year has gone<\/p>\n
and I’ll rush to psycho class and FC 2.<\/p>\n
and a hundred other things<\/p>\n
afternoons of counsellings<\/p>\n
staff meetings, hostel work and yoga too.<\/p>\n
Tell me, what with you is new<\/p>\n
of the things you like to do,<\/p>\n
what adventure, camp, assignment or romance,<\/p>\n
SSL or seminars<\/p>\n
how you while away the hours<\/p>\n
imitating people or just playing pranks.<\/p>\n
There is more I’d like to write<\/p>\n
but it’s getting late at night<\/p>\n
and my mattress and my pillow are saying, \u201cPlease!<\/p>\n
Your brain cells need a break.<\/p>\n
Stop it now, for heaven’s sake<\/p>\n
E’ en though this miss is worth this masterpiece!\u201d<\/p>\n
So I really have to go<\/p>\n
though I’d like for you to know<\/p>\n
that I like you, and this task has been a treat.<\/p>\n
Like you mentioned once before<\/p>\n
when you spoke of touching toes-<\/p>\n
you can count this as another terryfeat!<\/p>\n
Perhaps another time<\/p>\n
