1. we tread along<\/p>\n
footsteps light<\/p>\n
upon the yielding grass.<\/p>\n
The grass<\/p>\n
springs back again<\/p>\n
the path lost behind us.<\/p>\n
We hurry on<\/p>\n
to what awaits us<\/p>\n
yet another<\/p>\n
yesterday……..<\/p>\n
2. ….not e’en a whisper heard<\/p>\n
of other roads<\/p>\n
of other ways<\/p>\n
shuttle space flight or<\/p>\n
man on the moon.<\/p>\n
The world begins and ends<\/p>\n
the old familiar cart-track<\/p>\n
takes us round and round<\/p>\n
from where to where…….<\/p>\n
3. calloused hands<\/p>\n
corns perhaps<\/p>\n
an aching back<\/p>\n
the noonday heat<\/p>\n
a different kind<\/p>\n
of sweet smell.<\/p>\n
The price to pay<\/p>\n
for just a little bit<\/p>\n
of sharing…..<\/p>\n
4. to discover<\/p>\n
together<\/p>\n
and yet all alone<\/p>\n
perhaps another way.<\/p>\n
Beneath the scorching sun<\/p>\n
the gentle earth responds.<\/p>\n
5. the sun above<\/p>\n
the earth below<\/p>\n
and i between –<\/p>\n
the peacemaker.<\/p>\n
Somehow i get by<\/p>\n
with a little help<\/p>\n
from my friends.<\/p>\n
6. passing people<\/p>\n
they smile at me<\/p>\n
i hear them say<\/p>\n
that this thing<\/p>\n
upon my head was never meant<\/p>\n
to be a hat , –<\/p>\n
it has another use.<\/p>\n
Will someone please<\/p>\n
