Eons\u00a0past\u00a0it was that way<\/p>\n
Rough beach expanse of unhewn stone<\/p>\n
atop each other jumbled set<\/p>\n
stretched out unfriendly barricade<\/p>\n
to ebb and flow of wave and surf<\/p>\n
Stone beach, forbidding structured ban<\/p>\n
No barefoot prints\u00a0of passaged walk<\/p>\n
or races run on playful days.<\/p>\n
And yet the distance sunrise glow<\/p>\n
fluorescent sky in splendour form<\/p>\n
Announcing promise days to come<\/p>\n
Smooth passage to horizons reach<\/p>\n
Wind weather, storm and heat of sun<\/p>\n
relentless beat upon , break down<\/p>\n
resisting obstinacy, stones<\/p>\n
disintegrate to crumbled form<\/p>\n
to pebbles,\u00a0 subdued chips\u00a0and then<\/p>\n
with time\u00a0, unhurried ages pass –<\/p>\n
a generous spread of endless sand<\/p>\n
soft grains that sift and gently dance<\/p>\n
to melodies of winds\u00a0 and waves.<\/p>\n
The beauteous sky has been there yet<\/p>\n
and\u00a0glows\u00a0as patience now triumphs<\/p>\n
soft gentled sands\u00a0 a passaged path<\/p>\n
for dream walks, light-touch footprints brief<\/p>\n
tell many tales, of anguish, pain,<\/p>\n
of evening loneliness, despair<\/p>\n
or comfort hand-in-hand as friends<\/p>\n
or\u00a0lovers interlude day\u2019s rush<\/p>\n
and slowly walk the sand embrace<\/p>\n
caressed by sea winds, sunset skies<\/p>\n
and lives of promise yet to come.<\/p>\n
Stone beaches patience turned to sand.<\/p>\n
And so will I from hardness, dark<\/p>\n
Love weathered worn away the hate-<\/p>\n
hurt memories destructive force<\/p>\n
The damage healed now gentleness<\/p>\n
Uncrease the ridges, heal the scars<\/p>\n
soft smoothened now\u00a0I lightly tread<\/p>\n
By comfort seas t’wards glory skies<\/p>\n
Forgotten stones\u00a0sand turned by time<\/p>\n
New footprints now I leave behind…<\/p>\n
