Here are musings of mine for the Christmas event…<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n

I have been looking up at the\u00a0skies<\/p>\n
for a little while now.<\/p>\n
Voices -some whispered, some joyous –<\/p>\n
tell me that soon<\/p>\n
there will be a strange new star<\/p>\n
in the eastern sky.<\/p>\n
Lost amid the million and more stars<\/p>\n
already there.<\/p>\n
And yet seen clearly<\/p>\n
by anyone who is looking for it.<\/p>\n
Not everybody sees or can see<\/p>\n
this special star.<\/p>\n
One has to\u00a0face upwards, surely.<\/p>\n
And even with one’s face\u00a0turned upwards,<\/p>\n
one must have one’s eyes open.<\/p>\n
Even that is not enough, they tell me.<\/p>\n
The heart must also be open.<\/p>\n
Open and clear.<\/p>\n
Clear enough,<\/p>\n
like a still, calm hallowed pool<\/p>\n
to catch the reflection of this special star<\/p>\n
and to allow its inner depth presence<\/p>\n
to work transforming miracles within.<\/p>\n
It is not just an ordinary star.<\/p>\n
It looks ordinary, though.<\/p>\n
When one is millions of miles away,<\/p>\n
most things look the same.<\/p>\n
But with eyes and heart open,<\/p>\n
one\u00a0gets a closer look at the special star.<\/p>\n
And\u00a0one sees colours and shapes<\/p>\n
that\u00a0\u00a0one cannot see from further away.<\/p>\n
Rainbow colours. Dancing shapes.<\/p>\n
Inviting…. transforming….<\/p>\n
Inviting onwards towards\u00a0 Bethlehem.<\/p>\n
Across rough and arduous terrain.<\/p>\n
Through sometime dark nights<\/p>\n
and\u00a0 a feeling of being lost and unsure.<\/p>\n
Through doubts<\/p>\n
about where all this is\u00a0leading to.<\/p>\n
Through encounters<\/p>\n
with smooth-talking\u00a0Herod-types.<\/p>\n
And one keeps on looking upwards in hope<\/p>\n
Till the star is seen again.<\/p>\n
And one follows faithfully.<\/p>\n
Till the star comes to rest over a\u00a0 stable.<\/p>\n
And in the grandeur of divine simplicity<\/p>\n
one meets the Christ-child<\/p>\n
and offers gifts of life and love.<\/p>\n
Gold, frankincense and myrrh…<\/p>\n
The transforming miracle begins.<\/p>\n
Life can never be the same again…<\/p>\n
