A tryst is generally a beginning of something momentous…<\/p>\n
Precisely! Once the celebrations are over life will go on….<\/p>\n
But it need not go on the way it was going on earlier….<\/p>\n
Christmas is an invitation to transformation….<\/p>\n
It is the celebration of the unimaginable extraordinary<\/p>\n
in the everyday ordinary…..<\/p>\n
That happened at the very first Christmas too.<\/p>\n
The usual beautiful night skies<\/p>\n
are lit up with a new brilliance of the brightest star ever….<\/p>\n
a simple manger transforms into a palace…<\/p>\n
shepherds\u00a0 become\u00a0 royal courtiers…<\/p>\n
and an ordinary\u00a0carpenter’s new-born son\u00a0 is announced as prince of peace…<\/p>\n
Nature\u00a0need no longer become progressively barren and desolate.<\/p>\n
The world is no longer on a self-destruct programme\u00a0..<\/p>\n
no longer\u00a0 perishable and doomed to helplessness and destruction….<\/p>\n
The Christmas happening is a wake-up call to all of us\u00a0for a change of heart….<\/p>\n
an invitation\u00a0sent out to\u00a0humanity to opt for another kind of lifestyle.<\/p>\n
A changed lifestyle \u00a0that will transform\u00a0 and open up the ordinary<\/p>\n
into pathways of peace and justice,\u00a0joy and love .<\/p>\n
A lifestyle that will make bearable all the challenges that daily living so burden us with.<\/p>\n
The challenges will still be there but our own graced efforts will make them more joyfully bearable…<\/p>\n
And the life that goes on will be a kind of life that we can happily look forward to!<\/p>\n
May you choose this kind of option too and have a lifetime of wonder and blessings to look forward to as\u00a0 your own extraordinary “life goes on…”<\/p>\n
