Open the attachment. It is a sombre jazz version of a popular Christmas carol. I really think that the soul stirring comforting rhythm of smooth cool jazz is environment friendly!!
Another wonderful Christmas/New Year season. As we surround ourselves with the sparkle of joyous celebration we need to take a moment off to think about the new born Christ child and what his birth message is for us today.
The big sin today is our disregard for the environment.
Paradise, as God made it, is brutalised by man.
And in destroying nature we destroy one another and ourselves.
The Christ child comes to save us.
He comes to teach us to care for the earth
so that the earth will provide and care for us.
He saves us from ourselves for ourselves.

Christmas love & blessings…
New Year joy & peace!
Understandably, peaceful times for me. The college is closed and everyone is away doing their own thing. Me too… more time for my pottering and mails and garden.
My liturgically inclined lily plant is doing it again. The first time it bloomed was at Easter this year. Just now it is blooming again… almost as if it knows that there is an occasion for it to celebrate.

The Christmas family lunch at my brother’s place was out of this world! His son had just returned from London with a crate of goodies that were generously spread out for consumption. Plus, of course, top-of-the-pops Christmas fare cooked to delicious perfection by my talented family. Unfortunately there was just that much I could tuck in!
It ended even better than I expected. My nephew gifted me a hamper (small size) of excellent chocolates which I shall attend to systematically as this season of plenty rolls along to other delights in the coming year 2014!
Other little Christmas season happenings took place as the days passed by – family gatherings and weddings and visits from old friends coming back to catch up on nostalgia and “bonhomie”. Goodies pouring in and other wonderfuls so typical of this season.
And then, of course, the New Year 2014… begun already
My new diary is spruced, customised and ready.
I am looking forward as usual!
